What is CBD?

Also known as cannabidiol, CBD is just one of over a hundred cannabinoids found in natural oil that’s harvested from the hemp plant. It’s become increasingly popular as a plant-based health option, and many claim to have experienced positive benefits from taking it as a supplement. Upon entry in the user's body, cannabidiol acts on the receptors located throughout the body's endocannabinoid system. This helps to balance various body functions and support a stronger sense of wellness. The human body naturally produces endocannabinoids of its own which act to regulate this balance naturally. However, your body may not produce large amounts of these compounds, and this is where CBD products can help to boost its presence.

Overall Health and Well-Being

CBD brings a feeling of calmness and relaxation, which is precisely what you need to stay happy. A happy person is a healthy individual. It also helps to support more restful sleep, and this, in return, improves productivity.

How is CBD Produced?

Cannabidiol is a naturally-occurring substance that can be extracted from the oil produced by the hemp plant. The hemp is farmed on US soil and harvested when the fully-developed buds contain a maximum amount of this oil. The hemp oil is then separated from the plant material in a process called extraction. This yields what is known as full spectrum hemp extract. It’s called full-spectrum because it contains all of the cannabinoids that the plant naturally produces. THC, another cannabinoid, and the one responsible for the intoxicating effects of marijuana, may be present in small amounts, although newer strains of hemp flower have been bred to have less and less of it. However, some THC may be present in the full-spectrum hemp oil, so it may be necessary to remove it in a laboratory. The result of this is what’s called broad-spectrum hemp extract. While full- and broad-spectrum hemp can both be very beneficial, sometimes pure CBD is desired for a particular or application. After removing all other cannabinoids, CBD distillate can then be added to many different products.

Does CBD Get You High?

One of the common CBD myths is that it can get you high. In reality it cannot get you high if it does not contain THC. When properly produced, broad-spectrum hemp extract and CBD distillate will not contain THC. Full-spectrum hemp extract may contain some THC, but this is typically a very small amount. In fact, the government requires all hemp products to contain less than 0.3% THC. Koi hemp extract CBD products are tested and verified to contain non-detectable amounts of THC, or less than 0.001%. What all this means is that CBD is not psychoactive, and does not affect your brain functionality. However, you should avoid taking this product if you will soon be undergoing a drug test.

What are the benefits of CBD?

CBD is known for its effectiveness in supporting both the mind and the body. Since it contains no THC, CBD is not psychoactive, and this makes it a suitable option for individuals looking to relax without impairing brain function. It is continuously gaining popularity as more individuals find ways to include the product in their general health and well being.

Support for the Mind and the Body

We live in a busy and chaotic world, and sometimes, regardless of how much you wish, you cannot function on the level that is needed. We all have to deal with the daily stresses of work, home, and family life. If you are not careful, you might lose yourself in the process of it all. CBD provides you with the support you need for your mind and body by bringing the feelings of calmness amid chaos. CBD can also support the body when taken regularly to maintain a consistent level. It can also be applied topically to be absorbed directly by the skin and muscles. It can even help to turn back the clock and fight the signs of aging, especially when combined with other essential oils and skincare ingredients.

CBD Helps You Find Balance

One of the causes of stress is overthinking everything. Your mind might tell you that you cannot make it while trying your best to achieve certain goals. Sometimes you need to create space for yourself to unwind and reflect. Relax your mind, and everything will fall into place. CBD can help you calm your nerves and restore the mental clarity needed to make good decisions throughout the day.Put another way, CBD helps to support improved concentration, and with this, you can study, manage your work life, and interact with your family with less struggles.

How long does it take for CBD to work?

As with many things surrounding the body, there’s no one answer that fits every user. There are a lot of variables to take into account; no two people experience CBD in quite the same way. However, by understanding factors that play into how CBD interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system, we can start to develop an idea of what to expect. The wait time for the effects of CBD depends on variables such as: Personal attributes

Weight - people who weigh more tend to have more fat cells, which means they can absorb and store more CBD.

Metabolism rate - a fast metabolism will break down CBD components faster, and slower metabolisms will break it down slower.

Tolerance

How often you’re using CBD - you might feel it more quickly if it’s your first time.

Method of absorption

The type of product you’re using, and how it enters your system.
